2022 Washington State Cougars Betting Odds, Picks & Predictions

2022 WASHINGTON STATE COUGARS BETTING ODDS, PREDICTIONS, PREVIEW

The Cougars finished 7-6 SU overall last season and managed to make a bowl game for the eighth time in 10 years. Jake Dickert will lead Washington in his first full season as head coach and has already brought in a new defensive coordinator and transfer quarterback in Cameron Ward. Regardless of what changes have been made, the Cougars have their work cut out for them with their win total set at 8.5.

Quarterback Cameron Ward (4,648 YDS, 47 TD, 10 INT) is coming in from Incarnate Ward to take over the offense. Ward could be end up being a huge get for the Cougars, but only time will tell with that. The offensive line is concerning with starters gone from last season. Ward will have solid targets with Renard Bell (33 REC, 337 YDS, 2 TD) and De’Zhaun Stribling (44 REC, 471 YDS, 5 TD) returning. The defense brings in talent via the transfer portal and should be in good hands now that Dickert is running the show.

I hate to put the weight of a cover on one man's shoulders, but whether Washington State covers their win total of 8.5 (-135) is highly dependent on how quickly Ward can adjust to the FBS level. Wisconsin, Oregon, USC, and Utah are their toughest games of the season. Even if they manage to win two of those games, they still must go to Oregon State and will host the Sun Devils. Ward could very well be the guy, but I don’t see this team winning nine games this season. Best bet here is backing under the win total of 8.5 (+105).

Best Bet: Under 8.5 wins (+105)

WASHINGTON STATE COUGARS ODDS TO WIN PAC-12 CHAMPIONSHIP

+4500

As mentioned with the win total, a lot of the Cougars success depends on Cameron Ward. If he can even come close to his numbers at Incarnate Ward, the Cougars are in for a good season. However, I expect a bit of transition period for Ward and expect a six- or seven-win season. If you think Ward will take this team to the next level, this is the bet for you, but I don’t see that happening quite yet.

WASHINGTON STATE COUGARS ODDS TO WIN NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP

+25000

I wouldn’t expect to see Washington State in the National Championship this season. Making their ninth bowl game in 11 years is obtainable, but this is a bit of a stretch. Avoid this one unless you’re a Cougars fan looking for some juice.

WASHINGTON STATE COUGARS 2022 HEISMAN CONTENDERS & ODDS

Cameron Ward (QB) +15000

Ward was great at Incarnate Ward last season throwing for 4,648 YDS, 47 TD, 10 INT. How well his game will transition to Pac-12 play is still unknown, but a small wager here may be worthwhile. He’s a threat on his legs as well so he has potential to pad a stat sheet and do great things this year.
