2022 Wyoming Cowboys Betting Odds, Picks & Predictions

2022 WYOMING COWBOYS BETTING ODDS, PREDICTIONS, PREVIEW

Head Coach Craig Bohl will enter his ninth season as Wyoming’s head coach and look to improve upon a 7-5 SU record last season. To have another winning season would be a success for this team after losing many key players to the transfer portal. The good news for the Cowboys is they do have some talent returning on both sides of the ball and their scheduled plays in their favor. There is work to be done, but Wyoming is not in the worst position headed into the 2022 season.

Wyoming may have lost some talented offensive players, but this may be for the best as the Cowboys averaged just 374 total yards per game and failed to score more than 21 points seven times last season. Cowboys leading passer Sean Chambers (QB) and second-string Levi Williams (QB) both transferred to other schools so Texas A&M transfer Andrew Peasley (QB) will take over the offense. Running back Titus Swen (785 YDS, 7 TD) will take over as the main back after losing Xazavian Valladay to Arizona State. The offensive line should be good again this season, but the defense has work to do as they were hit by the transfer portal too.

The Cowboys have four games on their schedule that should win, those coming against Northern Colorado, San Jose State, New Mexico, and Colorado State. Their games against Illinois, BYU, Boise State, and Fresno State I do not expect Wyoming to win. This leaves four games against Tulsa, Air Force, Utah State, and Hawaii that I would consider 50/50 games. With the games against Utah State and Air Force being at home I think that Wyoming will cover their win total of 5 (-125). I do not see them competing for the Mountain West Championship this season, so this is the best bet on the board for the Cowboys.

Best Bet: Over 5 Wins (-125)

WYOMING COWBOYS ODDS TO WIN MOUNTAIN WEST CHAMPIONSHIP

+1800

Wyoming does not make it in my top five teams to win the Mountain West Championship, especially with them competing in the Mountain division. Their schedule does help them out a bit, considering they do not have to play San Diego State and games against Utah State and Air Force are both at home. However, at best I have the Cowboys winning seven games this season which will not be enough to make it to the championship game. This team is improving but still have a way to go before backing them with confidence to win the conference.

WYOMING COWBOYS ODDS TO WIN NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP

+150000

Head Coach Craig Bohl took North Dakota State to their first ever FCS Championship title in 2011, just four years after transitioning into Division I. Could he work the same kind of magic at Wyoming in his ninth season? Probably not, but this team is at least making progress towards competing for a Mountain West Championship. Take your money elsewhere as Wyoming will not be competing for a National Championship game this season.
