WAKE FOREST DEMON DEACONS vs. FSU SEMINOLES BETTING PREDICTION

The Demon Deacons suffered their first loss of the season this past Saturday in a 51-45 double-overtime loss to Clemson. On the plus side for Wake Forest, QB Sam Hartman was on fire, throwing for 337 yards and six touchdowns on the day. The offense has played well through their first four games, but the defense has struggled the past two weeks, allowing 428 yards to Liberty and 559 to Clemson this past weekend. Things will be no easier for the defense this week going against a balanced Florida State offense.

Florida State has made it through their first four games with an undefeated record. The Seminoles most recently took care of Boston College 44-14 with over 530 yards of total offense. Prior to the win over Boston College, the Seminoles won back-to-back road games against LSU and Louisville. QB Jordan Davis has led the way this season with 945 passing yards, five touchdowns, and one interception. Between Davis and Hartman, we should see a ton of yards through the air on Saturday.

I think this should be a great game from start to finish. I could see the results going either way, but I do like the total to go over in this matchup. Both team's defenses have struggled against solid offenses and both teams have solid offenses. Back the over here as we should be in store for a shootout.

WAKE FOREST DEMON DEACONS BETTING ANALYSIS

The Demon Deacons enter this matchup 3-1 SU and ATS. Going back to last season, Wake Forest is 4-1 SU and ATS over their last five games. In their last six matchups with the Seminoles, the Demon Deacons are 4-1-1 ATS. Going against this trend, Wake Forest is 0-5 SU in their last games when playing on the road against Florida State. The total has gone over in five of their last six games on the road.

The Wake Forest offense has started this season off on the right foot. As a team the Demon Deacons are averaging 314.0 passing yards (16th), 123.5 rushing yards (105th), and 42.8 points per game (T-23rd). QB Sam Hartman is the clear leader of this football team and has been an absolute monster with 962 passing yards, 13 touchdowns and two interceptions. Expect Hartman to be slinging the pigskin around again on Saturday as the run game has not been nearly as effective as the pass game thus far.

The Demon Deacons defense have allowed a combined 87 points and 987 total yards over the past two weeks. Granted, going into double overtime with Clemson is going to yield a high number of points and yards, but they still need to be better and take a little pressure off this offense. On the season the Wake Forest defense is allowing 236.75 passing yards, 139.8 rushing yards, and 30.50 points per game. They will need to be better prepare defending the run as Florida State is averaging 226.8 rushing yards per game.

FSU SEMINOLES BETTING ANALYSIS

The Seminoles are 4-0 SU and 3-1 ATS to start this season. Florida State is 6-1 SU and ATS over their last seven games. They are also 5-1 SU in their last six home games and 5-0 SU in their last five games when playing at home vs Wake Forest. The total has gone under in six of their last eight games. Following this trend, the total has gone under in their past seven matchups with Wake Forest.

Florida State's offense has looked great through four games and have relied on a balanced attack. As a team the Seminoles are averaging 277.0 passing yards (40th), 226.8 rushing yards (13th), and 37.5 points per game (T-55th). RB Treshaun Ward has been solid with 350 rushing yards (54 ATT) and three touchdowns. QB Jordan Travis has also played well with 945 passing yards, five TD’s, and one INT.

The Seminoles' defense has played well to start the season, aside from allowing Louisville 31 points and 495 yards of total offense. As a team they are allowing opponents 165 passing yards, 144.75 rushing yards, and 18.8 points per game. Wake Forest will be the most explosive offense the Seminoles have faced so it should be interesting to see how well the Florida State defense holds up.
