Detroit Pistons at New York Knicks

DET @ NY Odds

  • Opening Point-Spread: Knicks -11
  • Opening Money-Line: Knicks -625
  • Opening Total: 223.5
  • Time: 7:30 p.m. ET

The Knicks are back at Madison Square Garden looking to get on track after losing five of their last six games. The most recent defeat came to the team with the best record in the league, the Boston Celtics in a 116-102 setback on Saturday night.

Jalen Brunson carried the load for New York with 34 points, but the Knicks couldn't overcome Boston shooting 57% from the floor and knocking down 15 three-pointers in their 4th win over its division rivals this season.

The Knicks welcome in the Pistons, who own the worst record in the NBA at 8-48. Detroit suffered through a 28-game losing streak earlier this season but have picked up wins over Oklahoma City and Sacramento over the last month.

New York has captured 10 straight meetings with Detroit since the 2020-21 season, including a 118-112 home triumph in late November. The Pistons managed to cover as 14.5-point underdogs, but Brunson dismantled Detroit for 42 points.

Detroit is working on a new losing streak, dropping its past five games. The latest setback came in Saturday's 112-109 home defeat to the Magic, but Detroit cashed as eight-point underdogs.

Since the start of January, the Knicks have finished Under the total in 13 of the past 16 games at the Garden, while scoring 103 or less in three of the last four contests overall.

Brooklyn Nets at Memphis Grizzlies

  • Opening Point-Spread: Nets -2
  • Opening Money-Line: Nets -135
  • Opening Total: 214.5
  • Time: 8:00 p.m. ET

The Brooklyn Nets continue their five-game road trip against a short-handed Memphis Grizzlies squad that owns a 20-37 record.

The Nets hung around with the Western Conference-leading Minnesota Timberwolves on Saturday before dropping a 101-86 decision, marking the fourth straight defeat for Brooklyn.

Brooklyn hasn't busted the 100-point mark in each of the last three losses, while both defeats under interim head coach Kevin Ollie have come by double-digits.

Various injuries have pushed the Grizzlies out of playoff contention in the Western Conference, but Memphis has managed four consecutive covers, including a shocking victory over Milwaukee prior to the All-Star break.

Due to Brooklyn's scoring woes, taking the Under has been a winning proposition lately, cashing in seven of the previous eight games. For the exception of torching San Antonio for 123 points, the Nets have been limited to 110 points or less seven times during this stretch.

The home team won both matchups last season, but that means nothing as Brooklyn's victory at Barclays Center in November 2022 featured Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving in the lineup.
