NEW YORK ISLANDERS vs. BOSTON BRUINS PREDICTIONS
The Islanders have struggled for most of the season, but lately Barry Trotz's bunch has started to turn things around. New York has won the past two games against Detroit and Ottawa by a combined 8-2 score, while winning four of the past five overall, and seven of the previous nine (7-1-1) with just one loss in regulation on March 20 in Philadelphia.
The last time these teams played at UBS Arena in Elmont, the Islanders came away with a 4-1 victory behind Ilya Sorokin as the total pushed Feb. 17. Prior to that, the Islanders picked up a 3-1 win behind Semyon Varlamov, also in Elmont, on Dec. 16 as the UNDER hit. So how will the Isles fare in their first trip to Beantown this season?
The B's nipped the Tampa Bay Lightning 3-2 on Thursday behind Jeremy Swayman, a goalie who hasn't faced the Islanders so far this season. Boston has won three in a row, while going for six wins in the past seven outings. Five of those wins are in one-goal games.

The Islanders have struggled all season, but still have maintained their mastery of the Bruins with two wins on home ice earlier in the season.
It seems unfathomable that the Bruins will lose on home ice against the Islanders, who are certain to miss the playoffs. But New York has been playing with a lot of confidence lately, and it's not the team the B's want to see invading TD Garden when Boston is trying to work its way up the standings and improve its playoff seeding. I'm certainly not betting against the Isles, and will take a nice road value when I see it. Until Boston turns the tables on New York in this series, keep backing the visitors.
