Looking at the overall numbers, a bet of Over 10.5 Wins (-210) would be the play, but that's just too much to risk for not enough reward, especially tying up your initial wager for the entirety of the season.

Instead, it's a good bet that Alabama is going to be in the SEC Championship Game, and playing Alabama (-130) to win the SEC Championship is a better play. I still think Bama wins at least 11 of its 12 games with Heisman hopeful QB Bryce Young leading a reloading offense. Sure, this team lost WRs Jameson Williams and John Metchie III to the NFL, but WRs Ja'Corey Brooks (+6000) and Jermaine Burton (+30000) are the next in line to star. And true freshman RB Jahmyr Gibbs (+3000) is the next star-in-the-making in the backfield.

Road trips to places like Austin, Baton Rouge, Fayetteville and Oxford will be no easy task, and the Tide will get tripped up in one of those league games most likely. But head coach Nick Saban always does his coach-speak, and he seems to rally the troops when that inevitable regular-season loss does occur, and then they finish up stronger than ever.

Again, this is the best bet on the board for Alabama, as it is the most economical. Alabama is going to be in the championship game. I mean, it's not a guarantee, but it kinda is. Unless disaster strikes, and Young is knocked out for a long period of time, the Tide will be in Atlanta battling. The conference road schedule is daunting, and the game on Oct. 1 in Arkansas is particularly daunting. But this team could easily go unbeaten in the regular season, too. It's not all about offense, either, as LB Will Anderson Jr. is one of the best players on the defensive side of the football, too.

The names on the backs of the jersey change over time, but the recruiting machine of Saban and company continue to score huge victories. Saban and the Tide know the type of player they want, and everyone with NFL aspirations wants to be there. So Bama has the pick of the litter, and will continue to challenge for national championships until further notice. With two of the best players in college football in Anderson and Young, the team is covered. They'll not only go to the College Football Playoff, but they'll make all kinds of noise. That's just what Alabama does. Like it or not, and the Tide certainly has a lot of haters, this is the cream of the crop and the safest play. Join the dark side, cheer for Alabama, and double up in the process.

Young will put up tremendous numbers again, and he is worth a roll of the dice to multiply your initial wager by three and a half times. However, you REALLY need to be special if you want to join Archie Griffin as the only two-time Heisman winner in college football history, and the voters haven't appeared to be keen on anyone joining the club. If Young gets off to a marginal start, have a backup plan in September.
