Oral Roberts vs. Florida Predictions

Florida gets the nod in this South Region second-round matchup as an eight-point favorite. The total line for Sunday’s 7:45 p.m. (ET) tip on truTV is set at 149 points.

Oral Roberts is already a bracket buster in this tournament with its huge upset against No. 2 Ohio State. This No. 15 seed has already proven it can hang with the top seeds and it is more than capable of further disrupting the South Region on Sunday. Florida should win this game straight-up but I am taking the Golden Eagles against the spread with the eight points.

I'm also taking the OVER on the total line. The way that Oral Roberts shoots threes, the Gators are going to have to score some points of their own to get that win.

Handicapping Oral Roberts vs. Florida

The Golden Eagles came out firing three-point shots in Friday’s opening round and when the smoke cleared in overtime, they had scored 33 of their 75 points from beyond the arc. They only hit 31.4% of those 35 attempts but it was enough to take down a No. 2 seed. This team is not afraid to shoot the ball from anywhere on the court.

Florida had its hands full with Virginia Tech on Friday in another game that was decided in overtime. The Gators should get a slight boost with the return of forward Omar Payne, but guard Tyree Appleby remains questionable with a facial injury. With solid scoring depth in this lineup, Florida is going to need a full team effort to win this tricky matchup.
