Betting Odds Breakdown

New Orleans opened as a 3.5-point home favorite with a total of 236.

Eye Test

The Mavericks (27-16) remain in first place of the Southwest division in spite of Tuesday's home loss to the Clippers. Each of Dallas' last four losses came at American Airlines Center, while eight of 10 games played this month came at home. In the two road games in January, the Mavericks won at Sacramento and Golden State, but the Mavs are 0-3 in their last three road games against teams with winning records.

The Trail Blazers remain outside of the playoff picture in the Western Conference at 19-26, two games behind the Grizzlies for the eighth playoff spot. Portland lost nine home games last season, but the Blazers have already dropped 10 contests at the Moda Center.

Current Form

Dallas saw its four-game winning streak come to an end in Tuesday's 110-107 defeat to the Clippers as 2.5-point favorites. The Mavericks have posted a 6-4 record in January since losing the final two games in December to the Lakers and Thunder on road.

The next six games will be telling for Portland in its quest for a playoff spot as the Blazers continue their homestand with the Mavs, Pacers, and Rockets, followed by contests with the Lakers, Jazz (at home), and Nuggets. Since winning four straight games in late December, the Blazers are on a 5-10 SU and 3-12 ATS slide, including a 1-6 ATS mark in the favorite role.

Head-to-Head

These two teams have hooked up twice in Dallas already this season as the Blazers edged the Mavericks, 121-119 as three-point underdogs on October 27. Dallas picked up revenge last Friday night in a 120-112 triumph as 7.5-point favorites, led by Luka Doncic's 35 points, which included an 8-of-12 performance from three-point range. The Mavericks have lost their last three trips to Portland, as each game finished 'over' the total.

The Mavericks are coming off a one day of rest as the 'over' has hit consistently this season with an 18-9 mark. When Dallas is on the road with one day of rest, the Mavs are 8-3 to the 'over.'

The Blazers are off two days of rest and have drilled the 'over' in three of four opportunities, as only one of those games came at home, a 129-128 defeat to the 76ers on November 2.

Betcha Didn’t Know

The Blazers own a 10-10 record at home this season with only one victory against a team with a winning record. That win came against Oklahoma City on November 27 when the Thunder had a 1-6 road mark at the time, as OKC has won 10 of its past 13 on the highway.
