Colorado vs. Florida State Predictions

Colorado's defensive play should be the wager here, so feel free to lean UNDER the point total. The Buffs have gone UNDER the point total 18 times this season, and as the most experienced team expect them to control the pace much better. Colorado is just 1-4 on the ATS as the underdog though.

Florida State has failed to cover the spread in 11 of 21 games as the favorite however, two being a push. FSU has also failed to cover the spread in three straight games when playing on a neutral court, pushing once.

A push actually seems likely here, a possible two-point win for FSU. However, Colorado is better physically and has more experience playing together. So if push comes to shove give me the Buffaloes, although FSU is a Final Four talent team so the point total market is my suggestion here.

Betting Stats & Analysis - Colorado Buffaloes

Straight Up - SU, Against the Spread - ATS, Over-Under (O/U)

Don't expect Colorado to put up 96 like it did against Georgetown, as FSU is much better all-around. It was the first time Colorado scored 80 points since Feb. 25, something Colorado has only done five times over its last 23 games.

Also note this is the best free-throw shooting team in the nation, which could help the Buffs close out a close game. The Buffs have won seven of their last eight games, covering five and going UNDER in eight of 12.

Bid: At-large

  • SU: 23-8
  • ATS: 16-9

Betting Stats & Analysis - FSU Seminoles

FSU has been a bit rocky lately, escaping from UNC-Greensboro but failing to cover its second straight game. FSU saw a 10 game stretch in which it covered the spread nine times. Since, the Seminoles have covered the spread three times over its last six games. They proved they can win a defensive battle against UNCG though, as this game against Colorado will likely be similar.

FSU's defense isn't elite, but its also not bad. Despite giving up points they do things well on the defensive side of the court. FSU blocks 5.2 shots per game which ranks 11th, while also averaging 7.2 steals per game which ranks 87th.

Seed: 4
Conference: ACC
Bid: At-large

  • SU: 17-6
  • ATS: 11-10-2
  • O/U: 14-8-1
  • Current Form (Last 5): 3-2 SU, 1-3-1 ATS, 3-2 O/U
  • Notable Wins: UNC, Virginia, Clemson, Florida, Georgia Tech
  • PS/G: 78.3 (37th)
  • PA/G: 69.6 (159th)
  • Off Rtg: 110.2 (34th)
  • Def Rtg: 98 (119th)

Key Players to Watch

McKinley Wright IV will go down as one of the greatest Colorado Buffaloes of all-time. Jeriah Horne provides a solid outside shot and rebounds, while Evan Battey (AKA: 'The Mayor of Boulder' as they call him in CU) provides heart and energy as a bruising big man.

FSU has talent all over the court. From Raiquan Gray to M.J. Walker, there are plenty of scoring options for FSU. Scottie Barnes is the top name to watch, a freshman but very critical to dictating FSU's pace of play.

  • CU - McKinley Wright IV (15.4 PPG, 4.4 RPG, 5.8 APG)
  • CU - Jeriah Horne (11.1 PPG, 5.8 RPG)
  • FSU - Raiquan Gray (12.2 PPG, 6.6 RPG)
  • FSU - Scottie Barnes (10.6 PPG, 4.3 RPG, 4.1 APG)

2021 March Madness Tournament Team Results

Both schools won their opening round games, although FSU didn't cover. Colorado easily covered and went OVER while almost touching 100 points against Georgetown. FSU went UNDER in a 64-54 win over UNC-Greensboro in which the Seminoles were -13.5-point favorites.
