LSU vs. Michigan Predictions

Michigan gets the nod in Monday’s second-round East Region showdown as a five-point favorite. With the tip-off set for 7:10 p.m. (ET) on CBS, the total line for this SEC vs. Big Ten clash is set at 149 points.

I went against LSU in its tournament opener against St. Bonaventure and paid the price. The Tigers looked sharp in that 15-point romp. Stepping up their game against the Big Ten regular season champs will be the ultimate test for this team.

I do think that LSU is up for the challenge, but I also see its tournament run coming to an end. Take Michigan straight-up and take the Tigers to cover against the spread.

I'm much more confident in betting the total to go OVER with each of these offensive-minded teams staying true to its high-scoring nature.

Handicapping LSU vs. Michigan

The Tigers have been able to average more than 82 points a game this season. They jumped out to a nine-point lead at the half of Saturday’s game and never took their foot off the gas.

Trying to slow down Michigan is just too tall of a task so look for LSU to simply try and outscore its opponent.

The Wolverines came into this tournament with something to prove after losing to Ohio State as five-point favorites in the Big Ten Tournament. They did not play their best game of the season in this tournament’s opener, but still posted a comfortable victory against No. 16 Texas Southern.

Michigan did get the point across that this is the team to beat in the East Region.
