Green Bay Packers vs. Baltimore Ravens Predictions

The Packers just weren't hitting on all cylinders on offense in the month of October into mid-November. However, since Thanksgiving, the Packers offense has hit its stride, going for a total of 112 points across the past three games, or 37.3 PPG. That's well over the team's season average of 25.2 PPG, and the offensive explosion has been against the Chicago Bears, Los Angeles Rams and Minnesota Vikings, not exactly slouches on offense. And, it has come with RB Aaron Jones on the shelf due to injury, with backup RB AJ Dillon emerging as a possible star.

The Ravens put up a valiant effort in Cleveland last week, falling 24-22 despite the fact they lost QB Lamar Jackson (ankle) early in the first half due to injury. QB Tyler Huntley took over and threw for 270 yards, nearly leading the Ravens all the way back in Week 14. If he is tasked with a start, the Ravens would not lose a ton with him under center. Head coach John Harbaugh said on Friday that Jackson would be evaluated after pregame workouts to determine if he can play or not. The good news, at least as of Friday, despite the fact the Ravens faced the Browns, who have had a COVID outbreak, none of the Baltimore players seem to be affected as of yet.

Green Bay Packers Betting Analysis

Straight Up - SU, Against the Spread - ATS, Over-Under (O/U)

  • SU: 10-3
  • ATS: 11-2
  • O/U: 5-8
  • ATS - Away: 5-2

After a 34-31 setback on the road against the Vikings in Minneapolis, the Packers have snapped back to form. They topped the Los Angeles Rams 36-28 in a possible NFC playoff preview, and they dropped the rival Chicago Bears 45-30 last Sunday night to cover an 11.5-point number. It was the second-highest scoring game even in the history of the Bears-Packers, which says a lot considering how long they've been playing.

The Packers have the most covers in the NFL at 11-2 ATS, and they currently hold a four-game lead inside the AFC North. Green Bay can clinch the NFC North if they're able to put away the Ravens in this one, or if Minnesota suffers a setback.

The Packers are 16-5 ATS in the past 21 games overall, while going 5-1 ATS in the past six games on the road while going 19-7 ATS in the past 26 games against a team with a winning record. They're also 7-1 ATS in the past eight as a favorite, too. Against AFC teams, the Packers are 2-1 SU/3-0 ATS while hitting the UNDER in all three games so far.

Baltimore Ravens Betting Analysis

Straight Up - SU, Against the Spread - ATS, Over-Under (O/U)

  • SU: 8-5
  • ATS: 6-7
  • O/U: 6-7
  • ATS - Home: 3-3

The Ravens have dropped two straight games, allowing the Cleveland Browns to pull within one game of the top spot in the AFC North Division. Despite the struggles, the Ravens are still 3-1 ATS across the past four games overall, following an 0-3 ATS skid from Oct. 24-Nov. 11. And the defense continues to do a pretty decent job, allowing 24, 20, 10, 13 and 22 across the past five outings, with the UNDER 4-1 during the five-game run.

Baltimore has found as way to get it done against NFC teams this season, going 3-0 SU, but just 1-2 ATS. The three games have been decided by three or fewer points, including a 19-17 win at Detroit on Sept. 26 which required NFL history from PK Justin Tucker at the buzzer.

The Ravens really seem to catch fire when the holidays come around, going 10-1 ATS in the past 11 games in the month of December. They're also 4-1 ATS in the past five against winning teams, and 16-5-1 ATS in the past 22 as an underdog. On totals, the UNDER is 4-1 in the past five games overall, but the OVER is 8-3 in the past 11 games at home.

The Green Bay Packers have covered 16 of the past 12 games overall, including 11-2 ATS this season. (AP)

Green Bay Packers vs. Baltimore Ravens Betting Conclusion

The Packers have been rolling right along on offense, and appear to be peaking at the right time. While QB Aaron Rodgers continues to battle through the pain of a fractured toe, you wouldn't know it by his play on the field. He hasn't been practicing much, if at all, lately, but the results have been outstanding on game day. And the strong play has been happening with a patchwork offensive line, as OT David Bakhtiari has sidelined which still recovering from a knee injury, and starting right tackle Billy Turner was knocked out of last week's game due to a knee injury vs. CHI.

There is too much uncertainty under center for the Ravens, but even if Jackson were able to somehow play, he isn't outdueling Rodgers. It's just not happening. Take the Packers to add to their NFL-best 11-2 ATS mark, and this will be the week they clinch the NFC North.
