The Western Conference Denver Nuggets were originally founded in 1967 as the Denver Larks. However, they changed their name to the Denver Rockets even before the first season began. The name was finally changed to the Denver Nuggets in 1974.
The Nuggets have never been able to land a Championship Title, nor a Conference Title. However, the team has been able to clinch 2 ABA titles. Once the team joined the NBA in 1976 after the ABA-NBA merger, they were able to qualify for the NBA playoffs for nine consecutive seasons in the 80s as well as ten consecutive seasons from 2004 to 2013.
The team has not been able to make an appearance in the NBA finals since the 70s. The Nuggets are the only one of the four surviving former ABA teams to have never been able to reach the NBA Finals.
Two of the best known players to have ever been on the Nuggets are Alex English and Kiki Vandeweghe, two forwards in the 1980s. Fans may also recognize Dikembe Mutombo, George Karl, and Carmelo Anthony. Allen Iverson has also played for the Denver Nuggets.
The Denver Nuggets don’t have a many rivalry's with another teams, though they have had minor ones with the Los Angeles Lakers, the Utah Jazz, and the San Antonio Spurs. In recent years, the Portland Trailblazers have emerged as a potential rival for the Nuggets.
A very popular bet for NBA wagering is the spread bet. A spread bet is a wager on the total accumulated points scored in a game as well as which team wins by how many points. To demonstrate, let’s say the spread for a Nuggets vs. Trailblazers game looks like this:
These numbers show that the Nuggets would be the team favored to win the game. The Nuggets would need to win by two or more points in order for the bettor to win the wager. However, if the bet is placed on the Trailblazers, they would need to either outright win the game or not lose by more than two points.
