UPDATE 4:15 P.M. ET SATURDAY, DEC. 30: With the Arizona Bowl kickoff minutes away, Wyoming is laying 4.5 points in BetMGM's college football bowl odds market. The Cowboys (8-4 SU/7-4-1 ATS) opened as 1.5-point underdogs back on Dec. 3. But the line jumped the fence to Wyoming -1 by Dec. 5 and has been slowly increasing since.

Today alone, the line is up a point, from Cowboys -3.5 to -4.5. Spread tickets are running almost 5/1 and spread money 3/1-plus on Wyoming. Additionally, the Pokes are taking 61% of moneyline tickets/78% of moneyline dollars.

BetMGM's total opened at 45.5 on Dec. 3, dipped to 44.5 on Dec. 4 and stuck there all month. This morning, the total fell to 44. However, tickets are 2/1 and money 3/1-plus on the Over.

Toledo (11-2 SU/6-7 ATS) won't have starting QB DeQuan Finn, who is in the transfer portal.

Arizona Bowl Pick, Prediction

Action Network college football betting expert Collin Wilson offers this prediction:

Is there any doubt the most motivated team in bowl season will be Wyoming after Craig Bohl gives his final pregame speech? The Wyoming head coach announced he will retire after this game, concluding a coaching career that started as a graduate assistant in Nebraska back in 1981.

Bohl’s final task is taking on a Toledo team fresh off a loss in the MAC Championship game.

The Rockets lost quarterback Dequan Finn to the transfer portal after five years of service. Backup Tucker Gleason did have a strong showing in the advanced stats while enjoying a cup of coffee in 2022, but he now faces a Wyoming defense that doesn't allow the big play.

The Cowboys ended the season scoring 84 points in their final two games, all powered by the legs and arm of quarterback Andrew Peasley.

Arizona Bowl History

The Arizona Bowl began in 2015 and the matchup now features schools from MAC and the Mountain West conferences, after previously having a tie-in with the Sun Belt Conference. The game takes place at Arizona Stadium from Tucson, Arizona.

The inaugural Arizona Bowl pitted a pair of Mountain West schools as Nevada held off Colorado State, 28-23.

New Mexico State thrilled its fan base with a 26-20 overtime victory over Utah State in the 2017 installment of the game, covering as 5.5-point favorites. It was the first bowl win for the Aggies since 1960.

Nevada edged Arkansas State in overtime of the 2018 edition, 16-13, marking the third 'under' in the five-game history of the Arizona Bowl.

Wyoming helped the Mountain West improve to 4-1 in the Arizona Bowl as the Cowboys cruised past Georgia State in the 2019 installment.

The 2020 version of this bowl had a huge surprise, as the Ball State Cardinals of the MAC won outright as 9.5-point underdogs against San Jose State of the MWC. The Under has cashed in three of the past four, and four of six, in this bowl game.

The 2021 installment, which was sponsored and to be streamed on Barstool Sports, was canceled. Boise State had COVID-19 issues, forcing them to pull out. Central Michigan then moved to the Sun Bowl with a vacancy, ending up with a much bigger pay day.

The last two seasons have seen close finishes as Ohio got past Wyoming in overtime, 30-27 in 2022. Wyoming kicked a last-second field goal to win the 2023 Arizona Bowl, 16-15 against Toledo.
