2027 NCAA Tournament Futures Odds: Florida, Duke Co-Favorites
NCAA Tournament odds for 2027 are simmering up, with the regular season tipping off Nov. 1. Last season, Michigan finished a dominant March Madness run by beating UConn for the 2026 championship.
Florida opened as the favorite in 2026-27 March Madness futures odds. Then in very short order, Duke and Michigan overtook the Gators. As the season opens, Florida and Duke are co-favorites in odds to win the NCAA Tournament, and Michigan is well off the pace.
Prediction markets are part of the mix, as well. Prediction market apps such as Kalshi offer users a way to trade contracts on who will win the college basketball national championship.

LATEST UPDATE: While Michigan cut down the nets for 2026, Florida opened as the favorite in BetMGM's 2027 NCAA Tournament futures odds. The Gators won the title in 2025, but bowed out in the second round in 2026, losing to Iowa.
Still, BetMGM opened Florida as the +1000 favorite, followed by Duke at +1100 and the newly minted champion Wolverines as the +1300 third choice. However, within 18 hours, there was a changing of the guard.
Duke and Michigan quicky moved into +800, while Florida remained at +1000. But as things fleshed out over the past few months, the Gators returned to the favorite at +600.
Now, as the season tipoff looms, it's Florida and Duke as +600 co-favorites in March Madness futures.
"Duke is a small loser for the book as of now. Florida is about break-even," BetMGM trading manager Seamus Magee said. "Both teams are absolutely loaded and rightful favorites, with two coaches who have made deep runs in the past."
And Florida coach Todd Golden has a title to his credit, from the 2024-25 season.
Following Duke and Florida is UConn at +1100. Illinois is +1200, then there's a co-fifth choice of Michigan State and Texas at +1800.
"I think both UConn and Illinois are very live to cut down the nets," Magee said. "I can never doubt [UConn] coach Danny Hurley and what he's built. The Huskies bring back some key players and also a good portal class.
"And Illinois is pretty loaded, with a lot of talent from overseas and a few key returners. The Illini look very much ready to make a deep run this March."
As for Michigan, it's been a significant backwards slide since mid-August. Michigan was +1200 on Aug. 17 but is now +4000, with a few contributing factors.
First and foremost, well before that odds slide, coach Dusty May left for the NBA's Dallas Mavericks, on June 22. Mike Boynton moved up from assistant coach to take over the Wolverines.
Michigan also had three players taken in the first round of the NBA Draft, on June 23. Then in late August, five-star incoming freshman Brandon McCoy tore an ACL in a Michigan exhibition game in Europe.
"Michigan is coming off a national title, with some important pieces gone including May. The Wolverines still return senior Elliot Cadeau for some stability. But this definitely does feel a good deal off the team that cut down the nets last March," Magee said.
Tickets and Money
Granted, there aren't a lot of tickets or dollars in the pot yet, with this market not settling until the first Monday of April. But with what's in the pot, Duke is the most popular team, leading in both tickets and money in BetMGM's March Madness odds.
Tickets count is close between Duke, Michigan and Florida. But the Blue Devils are taking nearly twice as much money as Michigan, which is No. 2 in money.
"A lot of those Michigan tickets are coming from the state of Michigan," Magee said.

Arizona opened at +1500 but has drifted out to the +2000 co-seventh choice, along with Louisville. Kentucky opened +4000 and is now +3000.
LSU is BetMGM's largest liability in 2026-27 March Madness futures odds. The Tigers opened as +15000 long shots (150/1), but are now into +4000. Fellow SEC outfit Auburn is +10000 (100/1) and the second-largest liability, and Texas Tech (+2500) is No. 3 in liability.
"LSU remains the biggest liability, and it's a giant question mark," Magee said. "A lot of guys are fighting to be eligible just to play for this season. If they all play, the ceiling is a deep tournament run.
"If they don't, or a few of them don't, it could prove to be a challenging season for [coach] Will Wade in his return to Baton Rouge."
Magee pointed to two teams he thinks are flying under the radar at the moment, and both are in the ACC.
"I think Virginia is a team with a lot of value still out there on the market," he said of a squad that's currently +3000, after opening +6000. "The Cavaliers bring back a lot of meaningful production and added another big get from Europe [Nolan Adekunle].
"I think by the time the season heads to March, we're going to be talking about UVA as a potential 1 or 2 seed."
The other ACC outfit:
"I like the look of this Miami team," Magee said. "I think the Hurricanes can push Louisville for third-best in the league, behind UVA and Duke. There's plenty of talent here, and they're well-coached."
Indeed, Jai Lucas took over ahead of the 2025-26 season and helped Miami go 26-9. The 'Canes got to the second round of the NCAA Tournament before losing to Purdue.
